Poem No. 142

A crystal box that's shattered, a worn and weathered shoe,
A tattered heart that has been left battered, black and blue.
A hurricane of song, that a banshee's voice cries out,
A binding of the thoughts that plead, between a screeching shout.
First the lonely calls begin, and cry unto the moon,
First the melted smiles start, before it's even noon.
First the insecurities strike like an orchestra,
First the doubts well up inside; a plague of pneumonia.
When a folly sparrow lurks over grizzly greyish skies,
When a weeping soul is bleeding, and realizes its demise.
When a hardened mind is severed, and thoughts ooze from deep within,
When a hand that once embraced is torn from skin to skin.
The jolly ones will laugh again, though only in retrospect,
The bones of those who fought will splinter, in means to love and protect.
The clouds will gather angrily and scream loud in the abyss.
The lovers with their lifelong bond will then share lives last kiss.

The Viking & The Fairy

Mystic forest with your foggy floors, and arms that stretch to the sky;
Surround me in your magic, and with the bluebells I shall lie.
Lavender and violets kiss my nose with a sparkling dust;
While a mossy bed of toadstools fills my heart with wanderlust.
A graceful doe roams nearby, with a look of peace about her spirit;
The gentle hum of the quiet forest is soothing... if you only pause to hear it.

The viking and the fairy is not a common tale,
but a tale of love is timeless and so the story goes.
A tough and able viking paced in his home one day,
he wondered if he would find a woman but that's something no one knows.
Too, a sprightly winged fairy fluttered through the forest base,
she wore a lonely sadness that stretched across her face.
A merchant passing through took notice of this creature and waved a little hello,
Your loneliness precedes you but I think I have a notion.
I know of one who shares your hearts desires and dreams and hopes,
follow me to him and I'm sure love will be in motion.
Leery she then followed, she thought why not take a chance,
the closest thing to heaven is still just second best.
When the two were introduced and they stood before each other,
they knew at once this was more than they could have guessed.
A connection like no other was born in that one moment,
the two were immersed in love and joy also did follow.
It was not long before they built a life together in the home of the forest hollow.
